ErnstErnst Kubitschek unterrichtete am „Mozarteum“ und am Tiroler Landeskonservatorium. Editionen von Musik des 17. und 18. Jhs. CD-Aufnahmen mit Blockflöte, Cembalo und Orgel. Musikwissenschaftliche Publikationen, in denen ihm das Aufzeigen der engen Verbindung zwischen der barocken Musiktheorie und der Aufführungspraxis besonderes Anliegen ist. Verleihung des Jacob Stainer-Preises des Landes Tirol für seine Verdienste um die Alte Musik.

Ernst Kubitschek studied recorder in his hometown Vienna with Dr. René Clemencic (diploma „with honors“), and organ with Alois Forer. Further studies with Josef Mertin, Anton Heiller, Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Gustav Leonhardt. Ernst Kubitschek earned a PhD at Vienna University with a study of ornamentation practice around 1600. Since 1976 he teached recorder and performance practice at the Innsbruck Conservatory and at the „Mozarteum“ University of Music in Salzburg. He was also organist of the Dreiheiligen Parish Church in Innsbruck.


Concerts and recordings as soloist on the recorder as well as on the organ and harpsichord, and with the ensemble „Affetti Musicali“ throughout Europe, USA and Corea.

As musicologist he has been responsible for new editions of music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Numerous publications on performance practice show him not only as a soughtafter musician, but also as a renowed researcher.

Teacher at summer courses and workshops in Europe and USA. He was awarded the Jacob Stainer price of the City of Innsbruck for outstanding contribution to early music.
